The incredible generosity of our wonderful community is giving everyone at Mountbatten the strength to carry on supporting Island people and their families. Despite the huge impact coronavirus has had on our work, our care continues; not only for people dying with coronavirus - but also for the thousands of people who are dying from other illnesses in their homes, in care homes, at St Mary’s hospital, and in our InPatient Unit.

Tough times ahead

How we provide care will continue to be significantly impacted over the coming months, as will our ability to raise vital funds needed to ensure our services remain available for everyone who needs them.

It will be some time before we can resume our normal fundraising activities and we are having to find ways of raising money in different ways, which is hugely challenging.

We need your help to face the tough times ahead and to stay resilient so that all Island people receive the expert and compassionate care during the last years of their life and the bereavement support they deserve.

How can you help?

  • £30 can pay for a bereavement session to help someone come to terms with the death of a loved one, wherever or however it has happened.
  • £60 can provide personal care from our Mountbatten at Home team, helping patients to remain in the comfort of their own home or care home.
  • £180 can pay for two Mountbatten nurses to visit and support a patient and their carer at home or care home.
  • £350 can provide 24 hours in a bed on our hospice ward, whether for respite or care right at the end of a person's life.

Our community will always come first

With your support, our teams will remain safe and able to continue caring for the most vulnerable in our community. With your kindness, patients who are dying and families who are bereaved will receive the highest possible expert comfort and care.

By donating today, you will help enusre that no-one who needs us is ever ignored.
