A gala dinner, held in memory of Gloria Minghella, has raised more than £20,000 for Mountbatten and the Isle of Wight Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Gloria's daughter and current president Gioia Minghella-Giddens and her team of helpers organised a fine dinner and evening of entertainment at Northwood House in West Cowes.

During the event, Mountbatten's CEO Nigel Hartley spoke about the links between the hospice and Motor Neurone Disease Association.

A raffle, closed auction and grand auction was held with items generously donated by Islanders and mainland supporters.
