Learning outcomes

At the end of this short course, participants should be able to:

  • describe palliative care emergencies and how to manage these
  • recognise the signs of the deteriorating patient in the last 48 hours of life, to include Syringe Driver update
  • recognise and manage nutritional and hydration needs at the end of life
  • further develop the skills required for assessment and advance care planning (ACP)
