Two groups - Brighstone Barnacles and East Cowes Shanty - will perform a special shanty evening at Mountbatten.

Brighstone Barnacles

The Barnacles are a group of pals who have enjoyed singing and entertaining together, for over a decade, with their harmonious style of singing and playing songs of the sea, the Island, folk and easy listening numbers.

Their regular followers describe their lively performances as showcasing their camaraderie and sense of fun as they set out to provide their audiences with an enjoyable experience. Their songs about the Island are written by their very own Isle of Wight novelist, song writer and performer, Crispin Keith.

East Cowes Shanty

East Cowes Shanty were formed in March 2023 at East Cowes Sailing Club, with no-one in the group having any previous singing experience!

The purpose of the group was to have fun, enjoy comradeship and to learn. Ever since, their repertoire of shanties and sea songs has continued to grow.
