Our care and support Our services Spiritual care Events in our chapel Our chapel is in the heart of our Mountbatten Hospice building, and offers everyone a chance to be quiet and calm. A number of regular events are held in our chapel, for everyone to attend - whether you are under our care or not. Pause for thought When: 8:45am to 8:55am, every day including weekends Spend ten minutes in the chapel being still and quiet, to calm your mind and prepare for the day ahead. Holy Communion When: 11:30am to 12noon, Sunday When: 2pm to 2:30pm, First Monday of every month When: 2pm to 2:30pm, Third Thursday of every month A 30-minute meditative service, open to people of all Christian backgrounds, where we share bread and wine, and reflect on a passage from the Bible together. Contemplative Prayer Group - Mountbatten Julian Meeting When: 5pm to 5:45pm, Wednesday 45 minutes of silent, contemplative prayer in the chapel, starting with a short reading or piece of music. For those who wish to stay, we meet in the Sunflower Café for refreshments and discussion afterwards. Relaxation Group When: 1:30pm to 2pm, every weekday 30 minutes of guided exercises to still the body and quieten the mind, using a variety of techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, music and focussed breathing exercises.
