Light up a Life with Mountbatten
Light up a Life is for everyone not only for patients and families we have helped. It is your opportunity to remember and celebrate the life of someone you love.
Dedicate a light on our Remembrance Tree in memory of a loved one and make a donation of your choice. You can dedicate as many lights as you wish. Your loved one's name will be included in our Book of Remembrance, which is on display at Mountbatten Hospice throughout December.
Your donation will go towards ensuring the future of Mountbatten and all that we do across our Island community remains secure. This Christmas, we will be there to support and care for all of those people who need us, many of whom will be spending Christmas together for the last time. We believe everyone deserves the very best care and support when facing death, dying and bereavement and your donation means we can continue reaching out to all those who need our help. Thank you.
You can also make a donation to dedicate a light:
In person - by visiting our fundraising office at Mountbatten Hospice, Halberry Lane, Newport. Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30
Over the phone - call 01983 217300 (please have your debit/credit card details to hand)
Pick up a leaflet in our Mountbatten shops - available from 12th November 2018
This year’s main Light up a Life service will be held at Mountbatten Hospice on 2 December at 4pm. Other Light up a Life services are being held throughout December in churches and venues across our Island community (please see above list for details).
Due to the rise in popularity of our service at Mountbatten and the decline in attendance at the service normally held at Newport Minster, we have decided to focus all our efforts and resources into the service at Mountbatten, where we will once again light up our Remembrance Tree in memory of all those who have died.
We have responded to feedback from our community who wish to attend a bigger service in church, this year we are offering the opportunity for everyone to attend a Carol Service at All Saints church, Ryde. This will take place on Wednesday 19 December at 6.30pm.
We realise that this change might be disappointing for some people, but we are responding to feedback from a large number of people over the past couple of years. Should people tell us there is still a need for a service at Newport minster, we will look at the possibility of reintroducing such a service in the future.
All are welcome at any of these events and we hope you will join us to remember our loved ones together.
