my great grandad passed away this year and at the very end of his journey it was Mountbatten that my family trusted. not only did he spend time throughout his last year of his life at Mountbatten weather it was for respite care, physio, or to just tell anyone who would listen his terrible jokes, his last moments were laid in a bed provided by Mountbatten in a room filled with the people he loved most in this world this is something that was and still is so unbelievably painful but Mountbatten helped support him and us as much as possible, we are so lucky to of had him as our son, brother, dad , grandad, great grandad and even a great great grandad and everything else that man was to each and everyone of us. I would love to beable to give/do anything that helps towards this service for this to be an option for so many others in need when the time comes.
Like many families Mountbatten has helped mine in such a devastating, heartbreaking time of our lives they go above and beyond to support and guide families through something no one should have to do, saying goodbye to the people they love most in the world. not only do they do all this but they also make sure that nobody is alone weather it be throughout or at the very end of the journey. a hand to hold, a hug to embrace when needed most or just a chat and a cuppa they are the people so many people have and will continue to need when it matters the most. So please if you can spare anything donate or get involved in any way you can as it will forever be needed and appreciated by 1000's in supporting mountbatten hospice to keep doing what they do best.
