John has over 30 years experience working in the public, charity, health & education sectors and over 20 of these years in senior HR roles. He holds postgraduate qualifications in human resource management and executive coaching and, underpinning his work, is a commitment to the continuing development of all staff and volunteers. Having first-hand experience as a volunteer in a number of organisations, as diverse as a nature conservation trust to a poetry education charity, has provided an understanding of the valuable contribution volunteers make to an organisation.

As an independent HR consultant, John has worked with a range of clients broadening his experience in the private sector, religious organisations and communities. John has been an active member of his church in places he has lived and been elected as a member of two Parochial Church Councils, Deanery Synods, chairing a range of parish committees and supporting the diocesan’s senior clergy by offering coaching and leadership development. Currently John is on the board of a religious publishing charity and chairs a diocesan committee.

The Isle of Wight has been part of John’s life from an early age, spending many childhood holidays visiting family and now lives on the Island where he has had a home for nearly five years.
