Fun, food and fundraising leads to hospice donation

An evening of raucous comedy and fabulous food – which included the auctioning of a tandem bicycle - has resulted in a £4,326 donation to Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
Organised and hosted by speaker and comedian Paul St John Martin from Blackwater, the event was held in the hospice’s John Cheverton Centre. Around 60 people attended the evening during which many contributed generous donations to support the hospice’s work.
Paul, who sponsored the evening including the catering, said: “It was an amazing success; the food was fabulous and the atmosphere was brilliant. Most importantly it was fun! I am absolutely delighted to be able to help the hospice.”
Rebecca Block, Head of Income Generation at Earl Mountbatten Hospice, said: “We’re very grateful to Paul and all of his guests for their generosity and support; the funds raised by the evening will contribute across the many aspects of our work, including our community team who care for 650 Islanders on any one day in their own homes.”
