New Art Gallery opens at Newport hospice shop

A new art gallery has opened at Earl Mountbatten’s Newport shop, which aims to showcase local talent whilst also supporting the hospice.

The new Ztam Art Gallery launched on Saturday 2nd December at the hospice’s Lugley Street shop and is the idea of Kelly Murdoch. She said: “Ztam Art was a long held dream of mine, to help other photographers and artists to get their work out on display to the public. Due to my health, I’ve not been able to do as much photography as I would like, so I am now focusing on helping others and, in the process, helping to raise funds for the hospice.”

All future Ztam Art exhibitions will be staged in the new gallery, with a new themed exhibition every four weeks. The opening exhibition is called “Our Lovely Island” and includes work by Kelly Murdoch, Ann Lewis, Sam Phillips, Ricky Ashanollah and Radek Gora, as well as a group of young inspiring photographers. All photography and artwork can be purchased, with 25% of the sale price donated to Earl Mountbatten. The gallery is open from 9:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Saturday, and the current exhibition runs until Thursday, 4 January 2018.

If you are interested in taking part on one of Ztam Arts’ exhibitions, email us or visit their Facebook page @ztamart for more information.
