Owl creates a buzz on hospice ward

An 8-year old Barn Owl lived up to his name when he visited Earl Mountbatten’s ward.
The beautiful bird, called Buzz, caused a quite a stir when he was brought in by Jo Ling, Manager of Haven Falconry Bird of Prey Centre.
Among the people he visited was Myrtle Crook, 94, who was able to hold Buzz using a falconry glove. Myrtle was delighted to see him and said how beautiful he was, particularly his face. She added: “It’s made it a happy day today.”
Nigel Hartley, Chief Executive, said: “Thank you to Haven Falconry for today’s visit, which has really put a big smile on people’s faces!”

"They look after you and they're so caring. I'm not frightened of dying."
