Walk the Wight 2017 is nearly here!

With just days to go before Earl Mountbatten Hospice’s Walk the Wight 2017, potential walkers are being reminded that it’s not too late to sign up!
You can still register by buying a ‘Pay £25’ pack in our hospice shops. However, be quick, as stocks are limited and registration closes in most of our shops on the afternoon of Thursday 11 May, although you will still be able to sign up in Newport shop on Lugley Street until 4:30pm on Saturday 13 May. A ‘Pay £25’ pack comes with a Walk the Wight T-Shirt and includes an £18 donation to the hospice (the remaining £7 covers the cost of the pack and the T-Shirt). It also includes a sponsorship form for those who wish to raise further funds for Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
If you miss out on registration in our shops, you can always register on the day, at any start point, for a minimum suggested donation of £20 per individual, or if you are a group of three or more, £10 per adult and £5 per child. Full details can be found in the Walk the Wight section on our website
Walkers can download the IW Radio App to track their progress along the route and tune in to Isle of Wight Radio to keep up to date with everything Walk the Wight. Paul Topping and the team will broadcast live from the finish line at the Needles Landmark Attraction.

And, for last minute updates and information, make sure to sign up to Earl Mountbatten Hospice’s official Facebook and Twitter feeds. We’d love to see your photos and videos on the day, so please don’t forget to send them to us either on social media, using #WTW17, or email
Jax Jones, Major Events Fundraiser, said: “Over 7,000 men, women, children and dogs have so far registered and we want to thank everyone for their support; we hope even more people will register between now and the event itself. We wish all our walkers the best of luck for what is sure to be an amazing day!”
Nigel Hartley, Chief Executive, said: “Walk the Wight is the perfect opportunity for the community to come together in celebration of our hospice’s 35th anniversary year. I will be walking the full 26.5 miles and look forward to meeting many of you along the route.”

"What should have been a very stressful time was eased by the love, professionalism and warmth we received from all the staff."
