STAFF NURSE - Inpatient Unit

Salary Up To £30,615.00 per annum, pro rata - equivalent to Agenda for Change Band 5

25 hours per week to be worked flexibly including weekends, bank holidays and nights

About the Role:

The post holder will provide individualised care to your patients and their families, assisting with providing a high level of pain and symptom control. The post holder will provide a high standard of care and support to their patients and families and under the guidance of the senior nurse on duty you will manage your own case-load of patients.

The post holder will have the opportunity to provide support to our Health Care Assistants and Volunteers. This role offers excellent opportunities to develop your clinical skills not only within the inpatient unit but also working alongside our community and medical teams here at the Hospice.

About you:

You will a registered nurse with current NMC registration and ideally hold a post qualifying qualification related to palliative/end of life care, although this is not essential as excellent training opportunities await. You will have experience of working collaboratively within MDT’s and providing a person-centred approach to the care of your patients.

You will have strong communication skills to enable you to explain complex and sensitive information effectively in both written and verbal forms to patients, their families, carers and other health professionals.

You will be an organised individual who is able to work under their own initiative and also work as part of the wider team of professionals. You will have good IT skills, including Outlook, word and excel.
