News & events News Getting to Mountbatten Isle of Wight during the Isle of Wight Festival 2026 The Isle of Wight Festival 2026 means some changes, if you are planning to visit Mountbatten Isle of Wight between Wednesday, 17 June and Monday, 22 June. From lunchtime tomorrow (Wednesday 17 June), a temporary one-way system will be in place on Fairlee Road. The inbound route to Newport will stay open but the outbound lane will close, with traffic diverted via Staplers Road.In addition, after each night of the Isle of Wight Festival, Fairlee Road will also be closed southbound, to allow pedestrians to leave safely. The Isle of Wight Council is advising we avoid Fairlee Road between 9pm and 2am, where possible, although it says timings may vary depending on crowd movements.Throughout the Isle of Wight Festival, Mountbatten Isle of Wight will be open to visitors via Halberry Lane (for traffic heading towards Newport only). You can also access the hospice site from Cross Lane (off Staplers Road), for traffic heading in either direction. Please be prepared to stop and explain that you are visiting Mountbatten Isle of Wight. If you are travelling by bus, please note these will be busier than usual and some changes and diversions will be in place, including no northbound routes on Fairlee Road.
