  1. Shop

Donate to our shops

All our Mountbatten shops and our Mountbatten warehouse have closed while coronavirus restrictions are in place. We are not currently able to accept donations.

For more information on the shops, click here.

When we do reopen, we will rely on the generosity of your donations to keep our charity shops well stocked with quality second-hand items. Please hang on to them for us.

All the proceeds from our shops go towards providing services for Island people who are facing death, dying and bereavement.

What to donate

We cannot accept donations at this time but when we reopen, we will only be able to accept them at our warehouse, located at 16a Riverway, Newport PO30 5UX - nearly opposite the Royal Mail depot. Please book a slot to donate by calling 217291.

You can find out more about when the warehouse is open on our website.

We gratefully accept the following for sale or recycling

  • Clothing, accessories and shoes (including vintage, retro items and even bras!)
  • Books, stamps and coins
  • CDs, vinyl and DVDs
  • Homeware, such as china, kitchenware, ornaments, pictures, collectables
  • Soft furnishings, such as small rugs, linen, curtains
  • Toys and games
  • Furniture (please note that fabric furniture must include a fire safety label)

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept the following items for health and safety reasons, or because there is no longer any demand for them:

  • Personal safety aids, for example helmets, life-jackets and buoyancy aids
  • Items with braking and/or safety catches, for example bicycles, pushchairs and some nursery furniture
  • Broken, or dismantled items
  • VHS tapes
  • Used pillows/duvets/pet items and bedding
  • Petrol/gas fuelled items
  • Cookers/microwaves/heated blankets

* Please note this list is not exhaustive and our Retail team will be able to advise you further on items that we are unable to accept.

Ways to donate

Via our shops

Unfortunately, because we have to quarantine donations for 72 hours before handling, we are unable to accept many donations at our shops. Our warehouse is open seven days a week to accept donations, but we have had to implement a booking system.

Please call them on 217291 to book a slot. Our warehouse can be found at River Way Industrial Estate, 16a, Riverway, Newport PO30 5UZ.

Collection

If you need your furniture donation to be collected, please contact our warehouse to arrange a collection date. Please note that our van drivers are unable to accept cash donations. If you would like to make a donation, we would kindly request you visit one of our shops or our main hospice site.
