Folk favourites Lucid entertained a record concert crowd at Mountbatten at the first concert of 2020.

The four-piece band attracted more than 140 people to the John Cheverton Centre. Playing popular covers and some original songs, Lucid also donated 50 percent of CD sales on the night to the hospice, taking the overall takings to nearly £1,500.

“It was fabulous to see so many people enjoying live music with Lucid at Mountbatten,” said director of nursing Liz Arnold, who introduced the band. “We are keen to keep up the momentum with our concert programme and we have some exciting acts scheduled to play over the coming months, so please come along to support them.”

A celtic-themed concert with Island band Slainte Va, who play traditional Irish and Scottish songs, will be held on Thursday 6 February. Admission is £10.
