A week of events Islandwide (31 Oct to 6 Nov 2019) to encourage discussion about death and dying.

For many of us, death and dying are taboo subjects that we brush under the carpet and, most of all, fear.

This is not the case in all cultures and we want to drive healthy conversations about the one sure thing that affects us all. Fear, denial and lack of knowledge may be getting in the way of dying well. Planning our exit ahead means less uncertainty where we have choices and, for those we leave behind, more comfort knowing that they will be carrying out our wishes.

Welcome to Mountbatten's The Art of Dying Well. A week of events taking place at locations around the Isle of Wight; there will be workshops, a parade, music performances, conversations and discussions around the themes of death and dying.

We want you to get involved! Why not take part in our poetry competition and you could have your work performed at our concert at Newport Minster on Wednesday 6 November? Or you could get creative and help our Day of the Dead parade go with a swing by coming along to our free workshops to make lanterns and costumes? We hope to see you there.
