Our services are growing due to the increasing need from our Island community, and our costs are rising.

Like you, we are experiencing the cost-of-living crisis as part of the day-to-day running of our lives. There are two main reasons for this:

  1. A significant rise in our energy costs – over 200% in the last year.
  2. Paying our expert teams. It is essential that our teams get paid at the right and proper rate. We have matched the NHS pay award to ensure we retain and continue attracting the best people to provide the high-quality care that Mountbatten is known for. This has added £500,000 to our budget.

For the first time in eight years, we will end this financial year with a budget deficit.

More Island people need our help than ever before, and we cannot afford to ignore anyone. But without your continued support, we face hard decisions on the future of our services and may have to start saying ‘no’ to people who need us.

Your donation today will protect our patients and families by ensuring our services continue and remain free to our community.

It currently costs over £10.5 million every year to keep our services running, and we receive only around a third of this from government funding.

We rely on our amazing community's generosity and our incredible volunteers who give their time to support the best possible care for local people in the last years of their life.
