Rose Crosby

07 Sep 1925 - 20 Oct 2018

Rose was a very much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on the Isle of Dogs in 1925, and grew up in Kent, where she lived until shortly after her marriage to Fred. They moved to Walsall in early 1950s where they lived for most of the their married life, having two daughters, Pamela and Gillian. In the 1990s, they moved to Rugeley to be nearer to their daughter Gillian, son-in-law David, and grandchildren, Becky, Trudie, Katy and Chloe. Rose was widowed in 2013, and also sadly lost her eldest daughter Pamela in 2016. Rose loved being a nanny to her 4 granddaughters and, more recently, great-nanny Rose to Lexi and Amelia. In 2017 Rose moved with Gillian and David and 3 dogs to live together on the Isle of Wight. She loved her time on the Island and felt really fortunate to be living in a such a beautiful place, and by the sea. During her life, Rose had a career as a hairdresser. She lived her life according to God's word, and was a very active church member. As a young lady, Rose was Sunday school teacher, and then in Walsall she was a Girls' Brigade Leader for very many years. She also volunteered at a 'mother and toddlers' group, and the local hospital. Rose was a gentle, kind person who loved her family. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano, knitting and reading, and Rose particularly enjoyed watching musical theatre shows. Rose passed away on 20 October 2018 at Mountbatten Hospice after a short illness. She is very much missed.
