Who are open session for?

The sessions are for anyone wanting to understand more about living well with symptoms, optimising health and planning for the future.  You do not have to be known to Mountbatten to attend.  You may be living with symptoms such as breathlessness, fatigue, poor sleep or falls and want to learn strategies to manage these.  You may be a family member wanting to know how to support someone you care about who has a health condition.  You may be a carer or other professional wanting to enhance knowledge and skills in providing education around symptom management

What are the benefits?

The educational sessions aim to provide:

  • Enhanced understanding of why certain symptoms occur.
  • Empowering strategies to manage symptoms and optimise health/wellbeing.
  • Evidence-based information delivered by professionals to ensure you are well informed.
  • Increased awareness of support available and how to access it.

What you will gain from attending:

A better sense of control over your health, well-being, and symptoms, with the opportunity to consider what matters to you and how to achieve this.

Session dates and times:

  • Monday 11 September 2023 - 11.30am - 1pm: Living with Breathlessness. Learn techniques and strategies to gain back control. 
  • Monday 18 September 2023 - 11.30am - 1pm: Living with Breathlessness. Understand how anxiety relates to breathlessness and the proactive steps we can take to reduce symptoms.

These sessions take place in the John Cheverton Centre at our hospice in Newport and are free to attend - no need to book. Refreshments will be provided.
