Patients, staff, volunteers and supporters share their experiences of Mountbatten as part of our new podcast series.

Hear a variety of stories aimed at informing and celebrating life at Mountbatten across five different episodes.

Working with CRT Audio Tech, we share authentic, real-life experiences, to demonstrate the impact of our work, made possible my the generous support of our Island community.
Episode 1 features Val, an inpatient, who talks about life at the hospice and how it was the right place for her to be. Val is joined by Dee Curless, Mountbatten consultant lead nurse, who speaks about Mountbatten's wider work in people's homes across the Island and why planning ahead is so important.

In Episode 2, we talk to Paul, who has multiple, inoperable brain tumours. The father of two shares his experiences of Mountbatten and how we have supported him and his family. He is joined by Mary Banks, Mountbatten Head of Rehabilitation and Enablement, who works with Paul to help him live as well as possible with his condition.

Singer, composer and Mountbatten supporter Mike Christie features in Episode 3, talking about his experiences of singing to patients and families, performing Mountbatten concerts and having an open attitude to death and dying.

Episode 4 hears from Nigel Hartley about life as Mountbatten CEO. Nigel speaks candidly about the role, the challenges of end-of-life care and the importance of everyone playing their part in Mountbatten's success.
