Retail volunteer role description

Time commitment:        

Minimum 1 shift per week, around 4 hours.

Shifts available between Mon – Sun, 9am – 5pm

Why we need your help:

  • To help us achieve our targets, income which we rely on to do our work.
  • To enable us to raise money to support our vision in which all dying people and those close to them have access to care and support whenever and wherever they need it.

Where will you be based?

This depends on which shop you volunteer in. We have 10 shops across the Island and a warehouse in Newport.

What activities will you be involved in as part of this volunteer role?

This can be varied but will typically include things like:

  • Receiving donations, stock sorting and replenishment
  • Merchandising stock and window dressing
  • Serving customers using the till
  • Being an ambassador for Mountbatten in the local community and answering questions about your work.

  • Ability to follow our policies and procedures to keep you, our staff, our patients and our customers.
  • Ability to represent Mountbatten and our values of positivity.

Anything thing else you need to know?

Training and support provided:

  • Health and safety briefings where needed
  • Shown how to use any equipment as required
  • Support from the retail team, including the shop manager, at all times.

Registration form, two references, medical questionnaire, DBS check.
