Staff stories - Julie Rasmussen Just two months into her new role as a Mountbatten nurse, Julie Rasmussen said she was already feeling very welcome by the team on the Inpatient Unit at Mountbatten Hospice. Julie said: “My transition to palliative care has been well structured, with continual guidance. "Aims and objectives have been identified and plans put in place to achieve these. ”My new role is fulfilling, as I have the time and resources available to satisfy the needs of patients and their friends and families. “I feel fortunate to have gained employment here at the hospice and proud to be part of a dedicated and professional team, which works hard to deliver a high standard of care. “I would encourage anyone considering a role within the hospice to become part of the dynamic, forward-thinking team which is shaping end-of-life care, both at home and in the community,” Julie added.
